Albert is a Senior Investigator Scientist in Biological Mass Spectrometry. His research interests are focused on analytical method development for lipidomics/metabolomics, data-mining techniques, and high-throughput metabolic fingerprinting techniques. Since 2002, Dr Koulman has been actively involved in metabolomics research working in the Netherlands, New Zealand and the UK. Albert is also co-initiator of the Cambridge Lipidomics Biomarkers Research Initiative, responsible for biomarker discovery and validation.
