Darren has over 20 years programming and data handling experience. He is responsible for the development and upkeep of HNR’s many databases for scientific projects and research support. Important databases include Diet In Nutrients Out (DINO), a fully integrated nutrient databank and dietary assessment system. Since implementation in 2006 DINO has been used to record and analyse data for a number of studies including the National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS). In addition to his work with databases, Darren and his team are responsible for the management of various large datasets; ensuring data is validated before producing datasets to the requirements of scientific researchers.
