Research

HNR provides a cohesive and integrated framework for high quality, cutting edge and scientifically rigorous research projects and population surveys that investigate optimal nutritional status and vulnerability in relation to health and disease.

HNR aims to enhance the opportunities for top class nutrition research within the MRC and the wider scientific community, so as to promote the use and incorporation of evidence-based nutrition into policy and practice. With three research departments and a research support department, HNR brings together a strong multi-disciplinary team of specialists in nutrition, dietetics, medicine, physiology, endocrinology, biophysics, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, epidemiology, mathematics and statistics.

In order to help facilitate this additional remit of translating and disseminating nutrition science into policy and practice to deliver real improvements to human health HNR set up its own Communications Team.
